You can get personalisation at a price, thanks to a unique registration number from the DVLA. Which you know is celebrating 30 years of registration mark sales this year. And nearly 6 million have been sold so far.

Since the first auction in 1989, which had a modest 74 lots on offer at Christie’s London. The initiative has brought in around £2 billion for the treasury. With £116 million raised just last year alone.

While the most expensive registration thus far being 25 O, which sold for an eye watering £400,000 in 2014. Auctions now happen with ever more frequency at a variety venues.
