From silver medals on the international stage to his recent gold at the 2024 British Indoor Rowing Championships, Tom’s journey is one we’ve followed with immense pride. Today, we’re celebrating not just his sporting success, but also the local roots and character that make him such a standout individual and reaffirming how honoured we are to sponsor him.
Born and raised in Nottingham, Tom is a local sportsman through and through. His combination of power and focus quickly propelled him into the elite ranks of indoor rowing. In 2023, he brought home silver medals from both the European and World Championships, cementing his status as one of the sport’s brightest talents. He followed that up in 2024 by taking gold at the British Indoor Rowing Championships, an incredible moment that brought pride not only to his hometown, but to everyone here at Tennants UK who have supported him throughout his journey.
In one of the most exciting developments of his career, Tom recently stepped into the spotlight on national television, joining the BBC’s reboot of Gladiators as the mighty “Hammer.” It’s a role he was made for. With his towering presence and quiet intensity, he brings a powerful energy to the show, standing shoulder to shoulder with fellow gladiators Emily Steel (“Dynamite”) and Jamie Christian (“Giant”). This weekend, the trio were training together right here in Nottingham, Tom proudly showing his teammates around the city that shaped him. For us, it was another reminder of how grounded he remains, always proud of his roots and eager to fly the flag for Nottingham on and off the screen.
