We are committed to supporting our community through meaningful partnerships, charitable initiatives, and sustainable practices that make a positive impact both locally and beyond.
Our chosen charity for 2024 was Nethergate Academy, a remarkable school dedicated to supporting children and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities. The impact of their work is truly inspiring, and we are proud to contribute to their mission.
Our Finance Director Chantelle Foster was delighted to present our donation to Mel Kirk, Vocational Lead at Nethergate Academy, who shared her appreciation with the following words: “The support we receive from Tennants UK is a powerful reminder of the compassion and commitment that exists in our community.”
In April 2023, our team took part in a rewarding tree planting initiative at Peacock Farm in partnership with The Conservation Volunteers through the I DIG TREES scheme.
Equipped with spades, gloves, and plenty of determination, we planted 1,000 native trees. These included English Oak, Silver Birch, Beech, Hazel, and Hawthorn, chosen to support biodiversity, enhance woodland habitats, and help offset our carbon footprint. Despite challenging weather and muddy conditions, morale remained high as we witnessed the positive impact of our efforts on the local landscape.
In 2022, in response to the growing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, our staff came together to support those affected by the conflict. We collected and donated essential supplies, including clothing, food, toiletries, medical items, and baby care products worth over £1,000.
As the situation in Ukraine continues, we encourage our colleagues and peers to support ongoing efforts through trusted organisations such as DEC UK and UNICEF.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tennants UK played a vital role in supporting the national response. While prioritising the wellbeing of our staff, we continued operations and supplied essential traffic equipment to help keep the country moving.
We quickly introduced a dedicated range of products to support businesses in returning to work safely, including social distancing signs approved by the Ministry of Transport. Additionally, we provided custom signage to promote safety in reopened car dealerships and at essential roadworks, covering areas such as key worker identification and sanitisation protocols.
In 2019, Tennants UK was proud to support Nottingham Pride by providing signage to help ensure the safety of everyone attending the march. We recognise the importance of creating inclusive, welcoming spaces, both within our workplace and in the wider community.
Supporting events like Nottingham Pride reflects our ongoing commitment to equality, respect, and social responsibility. It was a privilege to contribute, in a small way, to such a vibrant celebration of diversity, unity, and local pride.
In 2019, Tennants UK proudly supported Maggie’s, a charity offering free, drop-in support to anyone affected by cancer. Through various fundraisers including our Christmas Jumper Day, we helped raise funds for these welcoming centres located beside NHS hospitals.
Maggie’s provides expert emotional, practical, and financial support, from counselling and stress workshops to benefits advice and community groups. We’re honoured to support an organisation that empowers individuals and their families during such a challenging time.
In 2018, the prestigious eight-stage Tour of Britain passed through the East Midlands, drawing over 1.5 million spectators across its 1,140 km route.
Tennants UK was proud to support Nottinghamshire County Council by supplying high-visibility temporary signage to help keep the event safe for all involved. It was a privilege to contribute to such a high-profile community event, and to cheer on the world-class riders as they sped through our city!
